“We came for The Dirty Heads.”

Just three besties from all parts of Pennsylvania (Harrisburg, Lancaster, Philadelphia), venturing to Baltimore, Maryland in efforts to see The Dirty Heads at the Reggae Rise Up Festival.

For me it’s my 5th time seeing this rad band and in September I’ll be seeing them again!

They put on such an awesome performance for all ages!

First though….we had a pretty rough time with our choice of stay, so I don’t want to go into details, since I wouldn’t recommend staying at a place with lack of service provided and false advertising.

So, we all called off work Friday and headed to Baltimore. We planned to check in at 11, and lounge by the pool for the first half of the day, until the festival started. Unfortunately, we got there and couldn’t check-in, and couldn’t use the pool.

So with that bad news upon arrival, we decided to go to Fed Hill, and stopped at the Horse You Came In On Saloon. It was so friendly in there, there was a solo artist performing and taking requests, so of course, naturally, I request Lionel Richie’s “All Night Long” to get the vibe started. Someone offered to buy the whole bar shots, and a lady gave us her French fries!

We killed some time, went to a few shops and headed back to our hotel to check in….

We finally arrived, pretty annoyed at the fact that we couldn’t use the pool, we decided to get ready for the evening and the festival.

We ended up eating dinner at Barcocina, literally the best taco joint in Baltimore. We ate buffalo chicken tacos and black bean queso! Again, our server was so nice!

After dinner and drinks we Ubered to the festi. ♥️

Dirty Heads went on at 9:30 and played til 11. Hands down best concert!! Had a blast, they played about every song you could think of. The crowd was hype, and friendly here as well.

After the concert, we Ubered home and got situated for the next day…

Day two consisted of finding a pool, since it was 88 degrees out. We lounged on the roof top and searched for a place with a pool, and thank god we found Tiki Lees in Annapolis, which was only a 20 min drive and had free parking.

Let me tell you, this place is a hidden gem and I highly recommend going! Food is a bit pricey but worth it in order to use the storage container pool and lounge chairs. If you go, bring your beach towel! Get there right when they open at 11am and you’ll find a spot with lounge chairs.

We spent the first half of the day at Tiki Lees and left to go to Reggae Rise Up.

We were sunburnt and decided it was a day to just listen to music instead of be in the crowd. I packed a blanket and we listened from a distance. Iration and Matisyahu were the performers we most wanted to watch.

After the festival we ventured to Inner Harbor on the free shuttle. We went to Power Plant live and got pizza, rode the mechanical bull and danced of course!!

Power Plant Live has a lot of different bars and food inside, and even a mechanical bull, so you know I had to hop on!!

We were pretty tired from the day, so we decided to head back after eating literally the best pizza ever.

Once we got back to our place, we passed out! ☮️

It was a great weekend, we came for The Dirty Heads and left with memories.
